Off-grid living festival

Once a year, a little town with the big name of Eldorado (Snowy Mountains) hosts this unique festival. It is fun, engaging, educational, practical, networking, and celebrating off-grid sustainable and healthy living. Please take a look at this year’s program to see what’s on offer, so you can start planning next year. It’s amazing, how many people find their way to this place, in the middle of nowhere, on a big paddock.

I love events like this, because it is a meeting of such creativity and abundance that my enthusiasm gets a huge boost. You find everything from gardening, to basket weaving, to chickens, tiny houses, electric cars, solar energy, wood heating, even some preppers were there.

Our little stall was a bit of a show-stopper- so surprised to see the huge interest in Buildingbiology. Most people even knew what it was! We handed out many brochures and cards, gave tips and tricks away, and had plenty of interesting conversations. A BIG thank you to all our visitors. Tiffany Richardson, our ‘queen of Buildingbiology’ from Melbourne, had organised everything - even the weather was perfect!

One of my most-spoken sentences was: We are about sustainability, but not just of the building and the environment: The building in turn must sustain the human beings, inside. The indoor environment needs to be healthy, walls need to breathe, and materials and construction must not have a negative impact on the health of the inhabitants.

The book ‘Health at Home’ explains all this in detail and has plenty of information and tips to get you started in making sure your environment is supporting your well-being.

If you missed out and you would like to catch up with Tiffany, come to our stall at the upcoming Melbourne Home Show.

(PS. Did you know that the people of Beechworth pronounce the town of Eldorado as El-do’-raduh, emphasis on the second syllable. Makes it sound really odd. - And they REALLY hate it…. don’t tell anyone about this. - Just sharing things I learn, while travelling…. ;-)
