Indoor Air Quality

I wrote about this before, - but it is really important. Not just because of COVID, but also because our immune systems have not been exposed to pathogens, as they normally would have been . Anything that comes along can hit us hard.

It is really essential to insure a good air flow in your home or workplace, and to measure the air quality. There are countless dodgy ‘CO2 meters’ on the market. I randomly tested two of them, and they were wildly inaccurate. The uHoo on my website is the best value for money, but of course there are others, like Kaiterra or Awair that you might want to check out.

The minimum requirements (beyond accuracy) are to measure CO2, humidity, particles PM 2.5, TVOC (solvents).

If for whatever reason ventilation is not an option, consider purchasing an air purifier. (The Choice magazine tested them) It is important that it has HEPA grade filtration and a carbon filter. This takes out the tiny air droplets and particles that can carry viruses.

This third wave won’t be the last one, - be well prepared for the next one!

Those devices also protect you against solvents and any other chemical nasties that don’t belong into your lungs.
