Spring Cleaning

Ahhh- the beauty of spring! Isn’t it wonderful, how nature, year after year, - shows us a new beginning of the circle of life? The fragrant air, the warm wind, even the earth is warming up, and everything starts to grow in delight. This is only possible, because things got culled during winter. Something has to go, for new things to arise.

Now, - Spring is also a perfect time for …. cleaning and de-cluttering. If you’ve read the heading and have not scrolled past, - welcome to the cleaning club!

Spring cleaning is a special kind of cleaning, as it aims to throw out the old and make space to bring in the new. It is more of a ritual, than a chore. Spring wants to be new and fresh, and it is easy to take advantage of that impulse.

We are all busy and time-poor, and most of us are also good at procrastinating. There is one way to get around this, by creating a celebration, a cleaning-party. We all find time to party, and your party starts in one of your bedrooms: OUT with the old!

Be a magician, a witch, a knight, of the universal order: Conquer your space! The party starts with one item or one drawer, and as the energy rises, we proceed to a second one, and so on. You will spiral into a cleaning-frenzy!

Engage your allies, like the washing machine and the vacuum cleaner, the microfibre cloth, the vinegar and other detergents, and lots of water.

Make sure to take a rewarding break with a few refreshments, before embarking on the next round: You are a winner, you are on top of this, you are in control, - look at all the stuff that is now clean or in the bin!

If you want to go all out, you can even clean the window.

Believe me, - your life will never be the same!

The magic of spring cleaning will open up new possibilities in your life. Be surprised and adventurous.

P.S. - You will be looking forward to the next weekend, while you are planning a sneaky attack on the next room in your home. Leave the worst one for later (once you become invincible), and remember: The stronger the mess, the higher the honour. :-)

P.P.S. - In case you’ll develop withdrawal symptoms, don’t worry, there is always the yard to take care of….. and the car…. and ….
