Tea Bags and nano-plastics

The discussion about glue that holds the string on the bag has been going for a while, and I suppose we have moved on to the stapled-on strings.

However, - did you know that those little paper bags contain plastics, and that the plastic goes into your tea, just like with coffee take-away cups, soft drink cans, milk cartons, drink bottles, ….. yes, it is depressing.

It is amazing, how quickly we all got addicted to using tea bags, when we had thousands of years of tea making cultures without them.

The easy way to prevent drinking those tiny plastic bits that stay in your bloodstream is to stop using tea bags. There are plenty of stainless steel options available, and loose leaf tea is much better in quality and flavour!

Just open one of your tea bags and pour out the contents: It’s more or less tea-dust.

If you insist, you can also try to find plastic free tea bags (provided you trust their claims). Here is a link to a helpful and informative article.
